Dorian Webb fundraising sale for The Laundromat Project
Dorian Webb will host a fundraising sample sale for The Laundromat Project (www.laundromatproject.org) December 12, 2007 from 6-8pm in her New York studio at 259 W. 30th Street, Suite 801 (between 7th and 8th Ave).

The Laundromat Project is a non-profit organization that uses the space of local coin-op Laundromats to allow communities of color living on modest incomes to get creative, display their work, take classes, and give their neighborhood a friendly and decorative space to wash their clothes.

As an African American artist, Dorian Webb has taken a great interest in this project and will donate 10% of all sales to The Laundromat Project to help fund the work they do. Her semiprecious stone and sterling silver collections will be marked 60-70% below retail for this special event.

"I am so excited about the Laundromat Project," says Ms. Webb. "I think it's a wonderful way to channel the immense amount of talent and creativity of people of modest income who live in communities that may not otherwise be exposed to the process of creating and experiencing art. It demystifies art and makes it what it should be: a transformative experience that encourages and challenges you to widen your horizons."

We are extending this invitation to you to help Dorian Webb and The Laundromat Project in their quest to introduce the pleasure of experiencing and creating art to those who might otherwise not get a chance to.
